Then, finally, I walked outside today and spied proof that spring is finally here; the colors of these flowers heralding the spring I so desperately prayed for.  This is also my first macro photo with a new camera, Nikon D5300, and Nikon macro lens.  The colors cry out, just as I do, for warmth and better days full of sunshine.

A Little Queen https://www.excaliburphotography.biz/blog/2014/3/a-little-queen Sheba Since this is my first blog entry, bear with me as I get my "writer's bearings."  I thought I would feature the "Little Queen" in my house, and no, it is not me.  It used to be me until I adopted my first female cat.  She became the queen of the house immediately which why I immediately named her Sheba.  You will notice she could care less about me taking her picture, thus her quiet disinterest was perfect and made it easier to photograph her in the quiet stillness of a Saturday night.  She sat patiently, waiting for me to finish.

I enjoyed turning the photo into a black and white picture to emphasize her face and the angles of the varying stripes in her coat.  Sheba is a Bengal mix cat and hopefully in the future I will get more pictures of her showing her Bengal spots for which the breed is known.  But for now, I hope you enjoy the photograph of this regal beauty as I do.
