EYE OF THE BEHOLDER...a look at life through a lens
I was beginning to wonder if I were ever going to feel the sun on my face during the warmth of the day or experience the colors so prevalent during a spring day. Winter 2013/14 seemed to go on and on as though the gray skies, cold winds, and icy mornings would continue forever.
Then, finally, I walked outside today and spied proof that spring is finally here; the colors of these flowers heralding the spring I so desperately prayed for. This is also my first macro photo with a new camera, Nikon D5300, and Nikon macro lens. The colors cry out, just as I do, for warmth and better days full of sunshine.
Since this is my first blog entry, bear with me as I get my "writer's bearings." I thought I would feature the "Little Queen" in my house, and no, it is not me. It used to be me until I adopted my first female cat. She became the queen of the house immediately which why I immediately named her Sheba. You will notice she could care less about me taking her picture, thus her quiet disinterest was perfect and made it easier to photograph her in the quiet stillness of a Saturday night. She sat patiently, waiting for me to finish.
I enjoyed turning the photo into a black and white picture to emphasize her face and the angles of the varying stripes in her coat. Sheba is a Bengal mix cat and hopefully in the future I will get more pictures of her showing her Bengal spots for which the breed is known. But for now, I hope you enjoy the photograph of this regal beauty as I do.
